Animation series for FAZ: making stories and insights easy to grasp

A couple of months ago Salon Alpin and me were contacted by the Frankfurter Allgemeine and their online editorial staff to help them with a hand full of stories and topics that were flying around in their newsroom. Their aim was to put out an animated series of insights that tell things a little different. A series that sets out to summarize topics like the US election and the fight between donald and hillary. Similar to their product Frankfurter Allgemeine Woche - that sums up the week in a nice magazine format.

So we set out to find and define a style that can go from US election to topics like saving energy on a daily bases. The first story got published last friday and got watched around 25.000 times on facebook within a week. This collaboration is a great example of working together tightly with the client, being trusted completely and rocking the thing from from story development to illustration, animation (with amazing help from LWZ) and sound (by Gabriel Schönangerer). Directing a series of great stories written by talented writers and journalists equals great fun.
