beyond branding, animation or design: an interview series on identity!
what do you do to fuel inspiration, creativity and motivation?
I love to meet up with great people. and I love to do self-initiated projects with no money strings attached.
around one year ago a former university colleague and I met because of him returning home from his years abroad in London. Philip Reitsperger, a great researcher, design manager and strategist and I found some similarities in they way we had changed our work approach over the last years. away from the hard core advertising campaigns (we were taught at uni) evolving towards more brand strategy, designing with clients and executing great visual worlds that go beyond the classic campaigning. both freelancing and not knowing exactly what we were after, we started to work on some things together.
mainly free / self-initiated projects we had kept hidden in our drawers. no client attached, no commercial success needed. still very different characters - me more on the design side of things, Philip more of a researcher and thinker - we found common ground: the interest in the topic IDENTITY. so over the last months, we kept ping-ponging around ideas every minute we did not have to make money for a living and started to slowly execute some ideas. all of it is still in the making and nothing is really ready to be presented, but a little something we also started is an interview series on identity. since we figured there is a vast amount of interpretation when it comes to this topic.
now writing and mastering the first 3 interviews we will start publishing them in 2017 and continue to go out into the world and talk to people about identity and what comes with it for them. the first interview partner was an artist, the second one a project manager for a social event and the third one a young actor from Vienna’s Burgtheater.
all very different, all very insightful.
so yes, this is a teaser but I could not hold back any longer. we will see what comes out of it but I am very excited to meet so many different great people.
